·        Primaryresponsibilities include research and recommendation of all network, andmanagement systems to be included in the IC3P, specification of system layouts,wiring layouts, dimensional layouts, and power systems design.

·        Interact/collaboratewith designated Chassis manufactures to ensure IC3P is manufactured to AFspecifications.
Provide direction to Airborne Networking team of seven professional networkingengineers, software developers, and technical writing staff.

·        Develop equipmentpurchases of all IC3P equipment and ground Integration Labinfrastructure.  The project is valued at over 9 million dollars.

Network Engineer

Network Engineer forAFSN Ground Based Infrastructure, Engineering branch.  During my time atAFSN I completed engineering and testing the first Air Force Gateway forCommunity of Interest VPN access and became a team member of the specialproject to develop components for airborne communications testing.

·        Designed, tested, andintegrated next generational networks providing capability for airborne networkreach-back using technologies such as embedded control systems, TCPmanipulation, packet compression, packet payload replacement, multi-channelISDN, bulk IP encryption, and unique combinations of routing protocols and IPtunneling.

·        Provided engineeringsupport and configuration management for AMC sponsored Executive AirborneCommunications Network (EACN) Ground Entry Points (GEP) which extend the reachof the SIPRNet and NIPRNet into aircraft of the Air Force and US Governmentsenior leadership. The EACN network was designed, tested, and integrated byAFSN.

·        Handled 1.5 milliondollar AFVPN Gateway project and brought the system from its testing phase tofull operation.  The project required extensive collaboration with membersof AFNOSC and the DISA Medical VPN Team.

Hired as a NetworkEngineer to provide entry-level network engineering for the AFSN PMO,specifically in relation to the SECRET Internet Protocol Router Network(SIPRNET).  I moved to the Defense Messaging System office during mytenure with NCI.

·        Performedsite-surveys. Ensured plans for equipment placement remain within publishedcommunication security doctrine and regulations. Performed test and integrationof installed networking components to include Fiber and Copper CSU/DSUs,Routers, Hubs, Fiber and Copper Circuits, and Cryptographic equipment.

·        While with the DMS PMOI designed architecture for sending and receiving secure message traffic into aseparate security enclave inside the Air Force's classified Network, providingall topographical layouts, position papers, test plans, and implementationstrategies to the PMO for use in the project.

Hired in April 1997 asa member of the help desk team, I moved quickly into other areas ofresponsibility.  Major accomplishments included OS2 to NT 4.0 conversion,converting printing from Print Server to local print spools, spearheadingTCP/IP access to AS/400, and development of true roaming profiles with LotusNotes integration.

·        Team Leader of thefour-man Technical Help Desk.  The Help Desk was responsible to supplyTechnical Support to 800+ local users and 200+ WAN connected users; maintainNetwork availability across the WAN; provide troubleshooting and maintenance ofprinters, workstations, networking equipment, and other peripherals;

·        Project Leader of theNT domain conversion, I was responsible for upgrading the entire home officedomain from OS/2 Warp 3 Servers to Windows NT Server 4.0.  The upgradeapplied to 700+ employees at home office and 300+ users in branch offices.

·        As the NT4.0 DomainAdministrator, I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of a serverfarm consisting of multiple domain controllers, applications servers, Intranetserver, and other supporting servers.  Maintained the domain user andcomputer accounts,
